Who Am I?
I’m just your everyday 30-something office worker living in the Kansai region of Japan.
My family includes my beautiful stay-at-home wife, a 3-year-old daughter, and a 2-year-old son.
No pets (yet!), but life is already lively enough!
My Camping Journey
I’ve been camping on my own for about seven years now.
As a child, my parents often took me camping, and those memories inspired me to pick it up again as an adult.
I started with solo camping, but now that my kids are a bit older, we go on family camping trips about once a month.
What Kind of Camping Do I Do?
I aim for easy and accessible camping that anyone can enjoy—even with kids!
Honestly, it’s not always easy camping with a wife who’s still new to it and two little ones running around.
But thanks to my solo camping experience, I’ve learned how to pack light and simplify the setup.
That way, we can reduce stress and focus on spending quality time together outdoors.
We live on a single income, so we can’t splurge on high-end gear.
Still, with smart planning and creativity, we enjoy camping just as much as the pros!
I started out borrowing gear from my parents—tents, coolers, the basics.
But soon enough, I wanted my own setup, so I spent around ¥60,000 to get started.
Since then, I’ve experimented with different styles:
Freestanding Tent → Single-Pole Tent → Mountain Tent → Tarp Camping
And now, I’m fully into family camping.
